Hair Product Suggestions

Hi everyone!

Bit of a random post, but could anyone recommend a good leave in hair treatment which isn't too expensive?

I have my birthday, my graduation and my graduation ball coming up in the next few weeks and I want my hair to look as good as possible!

I've tried Aussie products but they don't really seem to work for me, so is there anything else any of you could suggest? I'm open to trying anything!

Thankyou!!!

Evening Make-up Look

Forgive me if this make-up look is not brilliant, I rarely ever wear this much make-up nowadays so this is a little different for me! I thought that I would give it a go through and show you the type of look I would wear if I was going out for an evening, especially on holiday as this kind of look goes perfectly with a healthy glow <3

What I used:
  • Seventeen Skin WOW 3 Way Highlighter
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation (010 Light Porcelain)
  • Seventeen Miracle Matte Foundation (Soft Ivory)
  • Maybelline Cover Stick (01 Ivory)
  • Collection Pressed Powder (18 Ivory)
  • Collection Blush (04 Trouble)
  • Maybelline Color Tattoo 24Hr Cream Gel Shadow (Eternal Gold)
  • Coastal Scents: 88 Original Palette
  • Collection Lasting Colour Gel Eyeliner
  • Maybelline Master Smokey Eyeliner (Smokey Black)
  • MUA Eyeliner (Snow White)
  • Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Curves Mascara (Black)
So you can see the colours used in the palette

This is a pretty quick look to achieve. I blend my two foundations as I really struggle to find the perfect shade and the combination of these two seems to work quite well! I use these foundations over the top of the Seventeen Skin WOW 3 Way Highlighter, which is really fantastic. I then go over any remaining red or blotchy areas with the Maybelline Cover stick as this always creates a flawless finish. To finish, I always use the Collection powder as it works best on my skin and gives a nice matte finish and then I finish off with a dusting of the Collection blush on my cheeks and T-Zone.

As a base on my eyes I used the white shade in my colour palette. This was applied all over the eyelid to give a nice even colour to add on to. I then applied the Color Tattoo Gel Shadow over my eyelids and finished off with number 2 (coastal palette) in the crease of my eyelid and number 3 in the outer corner. I decided to add a tiny bit of white eyeliner to the inner corner of my eye just to brighten up the rest of my eye. I then  used the Collection gel eyeliner to thinly line the upper lash line and give a small flick at the outer corner. I applied a thin line of the number 3 shade from my eye-shadow palette under my lower lash line and applied black eyeliner on my lower lid waterline and smudged it out with the sponge applicator attached to the eyeliner. To finish off, I used the Rimmel Scandaleyes Rockin' Mascara on my upper and lower lashes.

The finished look:

I apologise for the explanation of how to actually apply these products, but hopefully you get the idea! I will hopefully try and do some more of these make-up looks in the near future, once I have practice some more and got used to putting so much make-up on!

If you have any comments, feel free to leave them below!

Toodles.

2014 Makeup Favourites (So far)

As many people probably realise, I tend to go through phases when buying makeup and other beauty bits. Sometimes I can't stop buying it and then other times the thought of going shopping to buy eye shadow depresses me immensely. Anywho, over the last couple of months I have picked up a selection of (pretty cheap) make-up and these are my current favourites!

The first of these products to talk about is the Bourjois Paris Little Round Pot Intense Eyeshadow (03). I have never been a massive fan of Bourjois products, mainly due to the price. I feel that compared to the majority of high street make-up brands these are overly priced for the quality of make-up that you get, however with this eye shadow I was pleasantly surprised. I bought this from Boots for £6.99 which I thought was a bit over priced but I had been searching for a shade like this for so long that I gave in and hoped it would be worth it.

Well, what can I say? This eye shadow is gorgeous; beautiful shimmer, beautiful colour, long lasting and highly pigmented. This eye shadow lasts all day and doesn't crease like so many other shadows do. Plus, I have owned this eye shadow for about 3 months now with regular use and there is still loads of product left. I would definitely recommend this product as it is well worth the price.

The next product is a lipstick from the new Maybelline ColorSensational Stripped Nudes Collection. I am not the biggest lipstick fan because I don't really like how it looks on me; silly I know but I'd rather blend in than stand out! I spotted these however on a recent trip to Superdrug and I was intrigued.

I only own two other lipsticks and they are both really bright and I barely ever wear them, so I really wanted to buy something I could use of a regular basis. There are 6 different shades: Naked Brown (757), Coffee Craze (740), Brazen Beige (732), Honey Beige (728), Tantalizing Taupe (725) and Sultry Sand (710). I opted for the Sultry Sand shade as this was the most natural looking and at the price of £3.49 (was on half price) I couldn't resist. It is a really creamy lipstick and feels amazing (kind of like butter) when you put it on, moisturizing your lips as well as making them look fantastic. The only problem with this lipstick is that it isn't particularly long lasting, but for the price and the feeling when you put it on, I wouldn't complain too much!

Next up is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow. I had heard mixed reviews about this product and I was unsure about whether or not I wanted to try it however I am so pleased I risked it because now I think that everyone should own at least one of these eye shadows. I chose the Eternal Gold shade because I love a smokey eye and I think gold works really well with that kind of look but I think on my next shopping trip I will have to purchase a couple more (maybe Pink Gold or Immortal Charcoal). This cost me £4.99 from Superdrug which I think is pretty reasonable especially for the amount of product you get.

I can't really fault this product. It has a really creamy texture and glides on really smoothly. You don't need a lot of product and as you can see from the picture, mine has barely been touched and I have had it for a while!

The final product for today is the Superdrug Coconut Oil. According to Superdrug 'Coconut Oil helps condition the skin, scalp as well as dry or damaged hair...coconut oil is a natural product that is solid at room temperature and gently melts on contact with your skin for healthy hair'. I LOVE this product. I actually can't get enough of the stuff.

It only cost me £2.29 and I know many may say that this is pretty pricey for an own brand product, try it for yourselves because it is well worth it. You can use this oil on your skin and on your hair and as someone who struggles with dry skin especially on places like elbows and knees and also has extremely damaged hair, this is a godsend! I use this when I get out of the shower and when applying to my hair I focus on the lengths and ends as this is where most of the damage is and I don't want my roots to get greasy. You need very little product (just a pea size amount) and you warm it up in the palms of your hands until it has melted so it is really easy to apply. Both my hair and my skin are looking much healthier and I have only been using this product for a couple of weeks! It helps that it smells absolutely gorgeous as well, and my boyfriend always comments on how nice I smell whenever I use this, which is nice!

I hope you enjoyed these reviews. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think!

Bye for now chick-a-dees!

I'm back!

Hi everybody!

I have been away from my blog for so long! I feel so bad that I haven't had a proper chance to write some new posts but I am pleased to say: I'M BACK!

For good. Just like Take That. Maybe.

So, I am graduating in 5 weeks! Ahhhhhhh! Crazy stuff. I am so stressed about it because I can't find work and my funds are pretty low and I REALLY don't want to rely on my boyfriend or go on bloody job seekers. Hopefully I will find something soon though, I must have applied for at least 100 jobs in the past month. I just want to work :(

Oh, I went to Lanzarote in February/March for a week. Myself and my boyfriend stayed in Puerto del Carmen in an absolutely stunning apartment. This holiday was much needed, I was getting stressed with uni, the weather in England was doing my head in and I really wanted a change of scene. Lanzarote is gorgeous and, to save myself some work explaining what it looks like, here are some pictures:

Never got below 20 degrees - Perfect!
Excuse 'the body'.....eurgh.

How gorgeous is that kitchen?

I made a friend, in the form of a cow ride thing. How freakish is that?

Anyway, yes...that was Lanzarote. I would put more pictures on but you REALLY don't want to see some of them (there were a few drunk ones).

Now I have made you all jealous with my holiday snaps, I will disappear and prepare a post on a few of my new favourite bits of makeup.

Good to be back!

(If you have any questions about Lanzarote btw I will gladly answer them to the best of my ability!)
