2014 Makeup Favourites (So far)

As many people probably realise, I tend to go through phases when buying makeup and other beauty bits. Sometimes I can't stop buying it and then other times the thought of going shopping to buy eye shadow depresses me immensely. Anywho, over the last couple of months I have picked up a selection of (pretty cheap) make-up and these are my current favourites!

The first of these products to talk about is the Bourjois Paris Little Round Pot Intense Eyeshadow (03). I have never been a massive fan of Bourjois products, mainly due to the price. I feel that compared to the majority of high street make-up brands these are overly priced for the quality of make-up that you get, however with this eye shadow I was pleasantly surprised. I bought this from Boots for £6.99 which I thought was a bit over priced but I had been searching for a shade like this for so long that I gave in and hoped it would be worth it.

Well, what can I say? This eye shadow is gorgeous; beautiful shimmer, beautiful colour, long lasting and highly pigmented. This eye shadow lasts all day and doesn't crease like so many other shadows do. Plus, I have owned this eye shadow for about 3 months now with regular use and there is still loads of product left. I would definitely recommend this product as it is well worth the price.

The next product is a lipstick from the new Maybelline ColorSensational Stripped Nudes Collection. I am not the biggest lipstick fan because I don't really like how it looks on me; silly I know but I'd rather blend in than stand out! I spotted these however on a recent trip to Superdrug and I was intrigued.

I only own two other lipsticks and they are both really bright and I barely ever wear them, so I really wanted to buy something I could use of a regular basis. There are 6 different shades: Naked Brown (757), Coffee Craze (740), Brazen Beige (732), Honey Beige (728), Tantalizing Taupe (725) and Sultry Sand (710). I opted for the Sultry Sand shade as this was the most natural looking and at the price of £3.49 (was on half price) I couldn't resist. It is a really creamy lipstick and feels amazing (kind of like butter) when you put it on, moisturizing your lips as well as making them look fantastic. The only problem with this lipstick is that it isn't particularly long lasting, but for the price and the feeling when you put it on, I wouldn't complain too much!

Next up is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow. I had heard mixed reviews about this product and I was unsure about whether or not I wanted to try it however I am so pleased I risked it because now I think that everyone should own at least one of these eye shadows. I chose the Eternal Gold shade because I love a smokey eye and I think gold works really well with that kind of look but I think on my next shopping trip I will have to purchase a couple more (maybe Pink Gold or Immortal Charcoal). This cost me £4.99 from Superdrug which I think is pretty reasonable especially for the amount of product you get.

I can't really fault this product. It has a really creamy texture and glides on really smoothly. You don't need a lot of product and as you can see from the picture, mine has barely been touched and I have had it for a while!

The final product for today is the Superdrug Coconut Oil. According to Superdrug 'Coconut Oil helps condition the skin, scalp as well as dry or damaged hair...coconut oil is a natural product that is solid at room temperature and gently melts on contact with your skin for healthy hair'. I LOVE this product. I actually can't get enough of the stuff.

It only cost me £2.29 and I know many may say that this is pretty pricey for an own brand product, try it for yourselves because it is well worth it. You can use this oil on your skin and on your hair and as someone who struggles with dry skin especially on places like elbows and knees and also has extremely damaged hair, this is a godsend! I use this when I get out of the shower and when applying to my hair I focus on the lengths and ends as this is where most of the damage is and I don't want my roots to get greasy. You need very little product (just a pea size amount) and you warm it up in the palms of your hands until it has melted so it is really easy to apply. Both my hair and my skin are looking much healthier and I have only been using this product for a couple of weeks! It helps that it smells absolutely gorgeous as well, and my boyfriend always comments on how nice I smell whenever I use this, which is nice!

I hope you enjoyed these reviews. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think!

Bye for now chick-a-dees!
