L'Oreal Miss Manga Punky Mascara

Hi guys!

Today I will be reviewing the L'Oreal Miss Manga Punky Mascara.

So I've been using the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara for some time now and I thought it was time to try something a bit different. I found the Lash Sensational mascara to clump too much for my liking and it didn't separate my lashes as much as I would have hoped.

I picked the Miss Manga Punky Mascara from my local Superdrug for £7.99 which I thought was reasonably priced. The main reason I opted for this mascara was the packaging. It is really cute and shiny and I am drawn to anything that looks a bit different!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this mascara because I didn't want my eyes to look too cartoon-ish, but I was pleasantly surprised when I first applied this product. The brush is lovely, it doesn't pick up too much product and it glides nicely onto your lashes. My lashes look long and spiky, but not too unnatural and I could definitely wear this day or evening as it builds up nicely. I also found that it applies well to the lower lashes too. I have struggled with mascara that has clumped on my lower lashes and given me a great panda look! This mascara however, separates my lashes and gives a more natural, day time look.

I'm really impressed with this product and I would definitely recommend it. It lasts all day and is also really easy to remove. I couldn't fault it!

Have you tried this mascara? What did you think?

Summer Favourites

Hi guys!

Today I will be talking all about my summer favourites. Summer is almost over so I thought it would be good to show you guys some of the things I have been loving this year!

First up is the Black Cami dress from Primark. This cost me £5 and it is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I even bought it in white because I love it so much! I wear it with a little bandeau underneath because otherwise it is kinda see through and I don't want to flash my boobs too much! I tend to wear this with sandals and a little cardigan, great for hot weather and I've worn it a lot this summer!

Next is the Nirvana vest top from Primark which cost me £8. It has a really cool twisted back and it looks really nice with a bandeau or cami top underneath. It looks good with skinny jeans or a pair of shorts, depending on the weather. This has been one of my go to looks recently as it is so comfortable to wear, especially on really hot days (not that we've had many) and goes with pretty much anything.

Next up is the Vera Wang Rock Princess perfume. I absolutely love this perfume. It actually belonged to my mum initially but she was really nice and gave it to me as she didn't wear it very much. This perfume has 'notes of peach, raspberry and bergamot; heart notes of heliotrope, rose, jasmine and lily; and bottom notes are cashmere wood, musk, iris, and coconut'. The peach and lily notes really come through and make this perfume great for days or evenings. This costs £22 on Amazon for 100ml, so really not bad at all for a great perfume which has a scent that lasts all day!

Fourthly is the Seventeen Instant Glow Shimmer Brick which sells for £4.99 at Boots. I love this shimmer brick as the shades are all gorgeous and give a really subtle glow to your skin. There are 4 different shades in the palette and they all blend together to give a great effect on your skin. I hate bronzers that make your skin too dark as I am very pale and usually bronzers make me look like I've had a fake tan disaster! This one however, blends well with my skin and just gives me a nice glow. Definitely a must have this summer!

Next is Rhubarb and Vanilla Body Butter from Wilkinsons. I absolutely love the smell of this product! It lasts all day and makes your skin feel so soft. I was unsure when I first bought it as it was so cheap (99p); I didn't think it would be that brilliant but I was so wrong. I now own this body butter in Strawberry and Pomegranate and Blueberry and Grape too because I can't get enough of the scents. I have had loads of compliments since using this and it shows that you don't need to spend a lot of money to get a great product!

Next up is the Raspberry and Vanilla Milk Original Source shower gel. This product smells bloody lovely and the smell lasts for most of the day. This product makes your skin smell amazing and really soft and gives me a great boost in the morning. I actually look forward to using this product as it makes me feel really confident. I will definitely be using this product for the rest of the year.

Finally, the Brown Gladiator Sandals from Primark, which cost £10. These sandals go with pretty much any outfit, which is why I have added them to my summer favourites. I don't think I have taken them off this summer tbh. They are so comfortable and for £10, a real bargain. They have lasted me since June and they are still in great condition so that's a positive too. I would definitely recommend investing in a pair of these!

What are your summer favourites? Any recommendations?

It's been a while...

Hi guys!

Hope you have all been well!

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted.

My mental health took a turn for the worse and I've been struggling for the last few months, luckily I am getting back to my good old self slowly but surely and I want to get back into my blogging as it cheers me up a lot!

I also have a new job, I start on Tuesday. It's only a part time admin assistant but it's what I have been looking to do for a while now. I'm so excited but also slightly petrified!

What else is new? Oh I went to Croatia with my boyfriend and my parents. It was amazing. Everyone should go. I went to a tiny village call Stobrec, but we went into Split most days. It is so gorgeous and so cheap. I never thought I'd be able to get beer for a pound!

I will be starting to do some more posts now, so hopefully that's something for you to all look forward to!

Look forward to reconnecting with everyone again! Wahoo!

Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturising Lotion

Hi everyone!

Its been a little while, I have had a super busy week so I haven't really had the chance to post on here :( but I am back and I have more time now so yeah, lets get on!

I received a sample of the Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturising Lotion last week and I finally got round to using some over the last couple of days. This moisturiser claims to 'significantly improve the condition of dry skin in just 2 weeks', and I can completely see this working. It normally retails for about £5 for 300ml, which I feel is fairly reasonable for the quality.

I have used this only a couple of times and I can already feel the difference on my elbows and my knees especially. As soon as you put the lotion on, your skin feels smooth and hydrated. This product is also fragrance free, which for some may be off putting but I think some products can be overpowering so this is fine for me. The consistency is also really nice. It feels quite thick but it absorbs so quickly, so you don't have to wait for ages to get dressed after using it, which is great for people who are constantly in a rush like me!

I think, especially over the winter months, this lotion would be perfect for anyone struggling with dry skin. I have really dry, flaky patches on my arms and legs and anything that claims to be hydrating and smoothing is extremely appealing. As I have only recently heard of the Aveeno range, I would definitely get the full size bottle of this product (300ml) and try many of their other products.

A definite winter must have!

MUA Luxe Voluminous Felt Eyeliner

Hello guys!

Today I shall be reviewing the MUA Luxe Voluminous Felt Eyeliner.

I picked this up from Superdrug for a reasonable £3, after searching the makeup aisles for what felt like hours. I am very picky with eyeliners and usually I'm not too keen on the felt tip kind, but this one stood out to me (I think because of the price if I'm honest!).

The eyeliner works well for me, as I prefer a subtle eyeliner rather than anything too bold, unless I'm going on a night out. I find it really easy to get the right look that I'm going for and its easy to add a little more if needed. I find that some eyeliners come out far too thick and make me look like I've reverted back to my goth days, or they are far too thin and really hard to apply.

Another positive is that this eyeliner doesn't flake or clump. I have tried many eyeliners and halfway through the day, there will be chunks of it all over your face. This one though, comes out smoothly, with a nice matte finish and lasts all day. The only problem I have is that it does take forever to get off. I was rubbing at my eyes for about 10 minutes trying to get the stuff off my face!

I would definitely give this product 9/10 and I would recommend it to everyone :)

Seventeen Stay Time Foundation: Review

Hello everyone!

Today's review will be about the new Seventeen Stay Time Foundation.

Seventeen has fast become one of my new favourite cosmetic brands, due to the high quality and reasonable price of all of their products. I have previously owned the Seventeen Miracle Matte Foundation, but I found it a bit too dark for my skin tone. I had no other issues with this foundation apart from the shade, so that is why I picked up this new release foundation.

I bought this foundation from Boots for £6.49, which for a new product is pretty cheap. I spotted it straight away because I could see that there were lighter shades available. After doing several swatches, I opted for the Soft Ivory shade as this seemed to match my skin tone perfectly.

I love this foundation. I have only owned it for about 3 days but already I have noticed the difference it has made to my skin. It looks healthier and the foundation doesn't sit too heavily on my skin unlike some others I have tried. I am incredibly pale, so it has become extremely difficult to find products that suit my skin tone, but this one adapts amazingly well. I don't even need to use much product as the coverage is fairly high with only a pea size amount, which means that this foundation should last quite some time.

The other positive about this foundation is the texture. It feels lovely and creamy and almost feels like a mousse when you apply it to your face. It doesn't go blotchy or streak and it stays put for hours.

I would definitely recommend!

Have you tried this product? Are there any other Seventeen products you would recommend?

Sanctuary Replenishing Hydra Tonic Review

Hi guys,

Today's review is of the Sanctuary Replenishing Hydra Tonic.

I have owned this for some time now and only now have I finally got round to reviewing it! I bought this from Fragrance Direct for £5.99. This was a pretty reasonable price as it usually retails for around £10.99 at stores such as Boots.

This product appealed to me because I struggle with my skin due to its oiliness and sensitivity and moisturizers tend to make it worse. The product description however, made this product stand out to me:

This ultra-light gel lotion vanishes into skin leaving a refreshing, cooling sensation and instantly quenches thirsty skin. Wild lime helps to encourage cell renewal for a brighter, more even skin tone, and a revitalised, dewy finish.

I love products that make your skin feel refreshed so I automatically purchased it!

The first time I used this product I was unsure. It was really runny and I got it all over me (the squirter was slightly over generous!). However as soon as I put it on my skin I noticed a difference. My redness seemed reduced and my skin felt so smooth and clean.

I use this product every night before I go to bed and, at the moment, I wouldn't swap it for another product. My skin looks so much better and it really helps to minimize oily skin, which is a massive plus for me!

The price may be slightly higher than average, but the lotion (which comes in a 200ml bottle) lasts for ages because you barely have to use any. I still have 3/4 of a bottle left and I have owned it for about 3 months.

Have you tried this product? Are there any you could recommend?

Eyeliner review!

Hi guys,

Ok so I wasn't going to do another review for a few days but I thought, because I have some free time, I should do a review about one of my favourite types of makeup: Liquid Eyeliner!

This review looks at 2 types of eyeliner that I own. The first one I will be discussing is L'oreal Paris Super Liner Black Lacquer.

To me, this is one of the best liquid eyeliners I have tried. I have owned it for around 2 months and there is still loads left and I find it to be one of the easiest eyeliners to apply.

I bought this eyeliner from Superdrug in the UK for £3.99, down from £6.49 which I thought was a pretty good deal. I had previously owned the Collection 2000 Fast Stroke eyeliner but I found that it chipped really easily, so I decided I would try another brand.

Anyways, this eyeliner is amazing. It glides onto your eyes so easily, and most of the time you will only need to go over it once, depending on the look you are going for. Once applied it doesn't take very long to dry, which is a bonus as previous eyeliners have taken an age and I have ended up smudging my makeup whilst waiting for it to dry. This eyeliner also lasts for hours. It doesn't flake or fade and I don't have to reapply it. The only downside I would have for this eyeliner is the issue of removing it. It can take ages to get it all off, and sometimes I have to use a couple of makeup wipes to ensure it is all removed.

I do think that this eyeliner is well worth a try though, and even for the full price, I would still purchase this product as I feel it is totally worth it.

The next eyeliner I will be reviewing is the Collection 2000 Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner. I purchased this eyeliner a few weeks ago from my local Boots store for £2.99 (a fairly reasonable price).

I decided to buy this as I had heard good reviews about felt tip liners, but being cautious I decided on a cheaper product because I didn't want to waste a lot of money on something which wasn't for me.
Anyway, I tried this product out straight away when I got home and to be honest, I wasn't completely impressed. It claims to be easy to apply but the thicker applicator tip, for me, tends to be harder at creating subtle definition. If you like to wear heaps of eyeliner then this may be for you, but I tend to go for subtle makeup on a day to day basis, so this was a bit much for me. The colour comes out well, and it doesn't seem to fade, even if I have had it on all day.

Out of the two eyeliners, I always go back to L'oreals eyeliner just because of the quality of the product, but I do still like to use the Extreme eyeliner for occasions that call for a bit more WOW factor on the eyes.

Let me know if you have tried these products, I'd be interested to know your thoughts!

Cat xoxo
